Meet Akeh – a lovable, goofy sweetheart who’s ready to bring joy and snuggles to his forever home! This big-hearted boy adores being close to his people and is happiest when curled up in a cozy spot next to you. He’s an excellent car buddy, does great in his kennel, and is a pro at entertaining himself with Kongs, durable toys, and bones.
Akeh enjoys his walks and does well on a leash—especially when he’s given a little guidance to stay focused. He’s very treat-motivated and eager to please, which makes him a fun and responsive companion for continued training. He thrives with structure and gentle reminders about his manners and boundaries.
He gets along with other dogs and would love a playful buddy who matches his energy and rough-and-tumble style. That said, not every dog appreciates his enthusiastic greetings, so a slow and thoughtful introduction is key. He could also do well as an only dog in a home where he gets plenty of attention and enrichment.
Because he sometimes forgets his size, Akeh would be best suited for a home with older kids. He hasn’t been cat tested.
Akeh doesn’t have a mean bone in his body—just a big heart, a goofy grin, and a whole lot of love to give. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving pup to share your life with, Akeh might just be your perfect match!

Akeh is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page.
If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
