Dog's Name: Barkley (BAR0325BCAMN)
Estimated Breed: Schnauzer Mix
Approximate Age: 3 years
Approximate Weight: 15 pounds
Currently Living at: Foster
Adoption Fee: $400
DOG'S DESCRIPTION:
Meet Barkley: Your New Furry Life Coach (Specializing in Chaos & Cuddles)
Are you emotionally stable? Do you enjoy having your personal space invaded by 15 lbs of wiry, wiggly love? Do you not own a collection of expensive, sentimental plush toys? If you answered yes to any (or none) of these, BARKLEY may be your guy.
Breed: Schnauzer-ish
Weight: 15 lbs of pure determination
Age: Approximately 3 years young
House training: Eh… let’s just say he’s an "abstract artist" when it comes to potty placement. May need a refresher course.
Crate Trained: Yes! Just don’t expect him to do taxes.
Dog Friendly: Great with other dogs, but big, high-energy ones might get a side-eye.
Special Skills:
Olympic-level toy destruction
Professional cuddle monster
Expert at giving you that "aren’t you forgetting someone?" stare when you try to leave the room
Certified Mood Booster™
This little guy is outgoing, playful, and has the kind of face you’d trust with your secrets—but not your squeaky toys. He’s looking for a home where humans give great belly rubs, understand that "potty training is a journey," and don’t mind the occasional bark-off with passing squirrels.
If you think your house is missing 15 pounds of fuzzy personality and just the right amount of chaos, Barkley is accepting applications. (He can't read them, but he’ll sit on them lovingly.)
Personality: Barkley is sweet, outgoing and friendly - and likes other dogs! While he does not appear to bark constantly, like all terriers, he will use his voice.
Training & Behavior: Crate trained, may need a refresher in housetraining. Barkley likes to greet people by jumping up, so he does need some training on proper "Good boy" behavior.
Health & Wellness: Up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and neutered.
Perfect Home: Any willing to give him love and attention! However, Barkley is higher energy and would benefit from a decent amount of exercise. We think he'd do best in a single family home, not an apartment or condo.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee.
