Meet Blue Boy, a big olâ gentle hippo of a dog whoâs looking for a forever loving home. This sweet 5-year-old has had a tough journeyâheâs been left at several different shelters across the St. Louis area by the same owner. But this time, heâs landed at the Pet Adoption Center, and the staff has completely fallen for him. Blue Boy is a happy, goofy guy once heâs out of his kennel. While he is kennel reactiveâsometimes due to stress, sometimes out of excitementâoutside the kennel heâs calm, affectionate, and full of charm. Heâs potty trained, enjoys meeting new people, and absolutely adores neck and booty scratches. Heâll do a delightful little gallop after toys before quickly losing interest. When it comes to other dogs, Blue Boy is non-reactive during walks, but he can be a bit assertive during introductions. He recently met a dog named Olive and was immediately eager to play. He did try to mount her a few times to establish dominance, but when she corrected him, he respected her space and stayed nearby. When Olive approached for attention, he came over again and repeated the behavior, but the two eventually found their groove and had a fun time running around the yard. He does tire out quickly but enjoys socializing and playing when he can. Because of his enthusiastic play style, a meet-and-greet with any resident dog is required to ensure itâs a good match.Blue Boy has so much love to give and just needs a chance to show it in a forever home. If youâre looking for a big-hearted companion with a goofy side and a gentle soul, come meet Blue Boy at the Pet Adoption Center. He might just be your perfect match.#AdoptBlueBoy #AdoptDontShop #StLouisPets #RescueDog #PetAdoptionCenter
