Bones is a survivor—and a sweetheart. Rescued from a parking lot, emaciated and post-surgery, this little warrior was diagnosed with megaesophagus, a condition that makes eating and drinking a unique challenge. But with a custom-built Bailey chair, a strict feeding schedule (ProPlan Chicken & Rice + water only), and lots of love, Bones has defied the odds and thrived.
He’s playful, incredibly affectionate, and bonds deeply with his people. Bones truly just wants to love and be loved.
But Bones isn’t for everyone—he needs a very special home:
Must be fed three times daily while upright in his chair (it’s how he “drinks” water too).
No treats, snacks, or food on the floor—he will find and swallow them, risking his life.
No small children (due to food/toy hazards).
Supervision outdoors is a must—he's got a nose for trouble and a stomach that can’t handle it.
Muzzle walks only to prevent accidental ingestion.
While caring for Bones takes commitment, his capacity for love makes every extra effort worthwhile. He gets along great with other dogs (with all food removed) and thrives in a structured, watchful environment.
If you have a calm home, a big heart, and the dedication to care for a special needs dog, Bones will repay you with unconditional love.
