Meet Calypso!





If you're looking for a dog that's mellow, affectionate, and playful, then Calypso is your girl! She has been looking for her perfect home since December of 2022. As one of our long-term residence, staff has all fallen in love with this sweet girl and for good reason! Calypso is not only good with adults, she also does well with most kids so she may be a good fit for a small family!





Calypso has her basic obedience down such as 'Sit', how to walk on a leash, and she knows how to use a doggy door. She's a foodie and will do just about anything you ask for a treat so you could surely teach her much more in no time. She's already halfway to learning 'Shake' and 'Roll Over' as she loves to give you her paw and roll over for belly rubs! She's well desensitized to touch as well. She doesn't mind having her paws touched, she loves nose and forehead kisses, and having her tail handled doesn't bother her.





Calypso has met many types of dogs during her long stay here at the shelter but her favorites and long lasting pals tend to be confident males. She is currently paired with our boy Red Red and they love to zoom around the yard, play chase, and roughhouse together. She tends to have short bursts of energy then she likes to take a long nap, usually up on a taller surface. She kind of has a cat-like personality in that way! Calypso would like to be the only "cat" around though, she doesn't vibe with the felines of the world.
