It is my pleasure to introduce you to Chef—a delightful mix of part potato, part loaf of bread, and 100% adorable, weighing in at 20 pounds. While his exact breed remains a mystery, our best guess is a Corgi/Shar Pei mix. Estimated to be around 10 years old, Chef still has plenty of energy for his favorite daily walks and playtime with his toys.
Daily walks are essential for both his happiness and waistline! Chef also requires a secure yard for safety, so an apartment wouldn’t be the best fit for him. Plus he loves to hunt lizards and birds, it's adorable to see him get excited while on the hunt Chef is not suited for homes with small children, cats, or small pets like rabbits, hamsters, or birds. Chef is currently living with a small, confident female dog and gets along well, although he does tend to resource guard his toys. Whether as an only dog or with a compatible dog friend, Chef thrives in a home where he can be the focus of attention. He will also thrive in a home with slow introductions to strangers and clear boundaries on what is expected from him.
This sweet boy is fully devoted to his person, often found lounging at their feet, following them around, or claiming the bed as his own. As such, Chef is looking for someone who can spend the day with him—he’s not a fan of being left alone for long stretches. Chef is neutered, has recently had a dental checkup, and is up-to-date on all his shots. Chef does have a very low valley fever titer and takes a twice daily fluconazole pill. He is also on a low dose prednisone/steroid pill once a day.
If you're looking for a loyal companion to brighten your days, Chef might be the perfect match!
