Meet Clapton – A Well-Loved Senior Gentleman Ready for His Next Chapter


Clapton (formerly Amedeo) is an 11-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a life story that proves just how special he is. Adopted from us a decade ago, Clapton spent a joyful life on beautiful acreage in the East Bay hills. With a loving mom by his side, he enjoyed training classes, doggie daycare, and countless adventures.


Now, Clapton finds himself looking for a new home after his beloved owner passed away. While his extended family cared deeply for him, they knew he deserved more than they could offer—and reached out to us, as we always promise to take our adopted dogs back, no matter the circumstances.


Despite the change, Clapton remains the same sweet, happy boy. He’s in great health, full of affection, and still has plenty of play in him—he even arrived with a bin of his cherished toys! He loves people and greets everyone with a wagging tail and a gentle presence. While we’re unsure how he does with other dogs, we do know he’s not a fan of cats.


Clapton is currently being spoiled in a loving foster home waiting for the next family who will offer him the comfort, companionship, and care he so deeply deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal friend and gentle soul to share your days with, Clapton might just be the perfect match.
