Animal Profile: Cole and his sister are 6 month old Retreiver/Catahoula mix puppies who joined us on 2/23/25 via our TX partner Saving Shelter Strays. They were found walking down the street together in an area with no houses close by and no one came to the shelter to get them.
Foster update:
Cole is an affectionate, easygoing pup who loves being around his people—but he’s not the clingy type. Whether he's soaking up head rubs, chasing after a ball or stick, or romping around with the resident dogs in his foster home, Cole brings a calm, joyful energy wherever he goes.
This smart boy is already crate and potty trained, knows basic commands, and is eager to learn more. With his quick mind and love for praise, he’s a dream to train and will thrive with continued positive reinforcement.
Cole is the total package: he lives peacefully with cats and even a house rabbit, walks beautifully on a leash, rides quietly in the car, and doesn’t blink at loud noises like vacuums, lawn mowers, or passing trains. He approaches new experiences with a calm curiosity that makes him a pleasure to bring along just about anywhere.
He loves water, hiking, lake trips, and any kind of outdoor fun—especially if it means spending time with his people. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s up for anything (and just as happy to relax at home), Cole might just be your perfect match. He currently weighs 44 lbs.
Cole is looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, a canine companion would be a plus but not neccessary. We are not considering apartments for him at this time.
