COMET NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Comet Best Guess for Breed: Hound / Beagle
Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of 01/22/2025 SEX: male
Approximate Weight: 35 lbs.
Gets Along With: Other dogs! He cannot go to a home with kids. Comet has not been seen with cats, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Special Adoption Considerations: Comet is looking to be placed with a confident doggy wingman to share in many life adventures and help him experience all that life has to offer. He cannot go to a home with kids.
Comet is looking for his doggie ride or die. A four-legged best friend to share in every adventure so that together they can embrace all that life has to offer. Coming from the country backwoods, he refuses to let his past define him and is eager to learn from and mimic your dog's confidence and best behaviors. Comet has a wrestling play style, and is looking for a dog buddy that enjoys a good old fashioned throw down.
At a year-plus old, he’s full of energy and loves to run, explore, and follow scents (starting every day by running laps in his foster's backyard and wrestling with his dog foster siblings). Daily exercise is a must to keep this energetic boy happy and healthy.
Comet is at the perfect age for training, as he’s eager to learn and please his people. Using positive reinforcement and plenty of treats will help in teaching him commands and good behavior. Consistency is key.
Hound dogs are known for their distinctive baying and barking. Comet would do best outside of an apartment as he is comfortable using his voice to share how he feels about the latest goings on in the neighborhood.
What My Foster Says About Me: Comet is a young, energetic boy who needs the opportunity to play with other dogs. He's smart (already knows "sit" and "touch") and quickly makes friends with the help of a few yummy snacks. With proper love and support of both the human and canine variety, Comet's potential is unlimited.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
