A FUN COMPANION:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 40 lbs.

Hello – I’m Dean!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am thrilled that they are going to help me find my new family.  I’m soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers in the meantime and can’t wait to do the same in my new home. I’ve been neutered now and just went into a foster home, so there will be even more information about me soon. 

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  Though I haven’t met dogs at the shelter yet, I liked the dog I met in a home I visited recently and wanted to play a lot!  The other dog did play with me, but wasn’t as into it as I was, so I barked at them to play more.  So, if you have a nice dog who is looking for a playmate, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / The cat in my short break foster home did NOT appreciate my attention, and I didn’t care for her either, so I should not live with kitties. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet and gentle guy who has a calm yet playful nature.  During my shelter bath, I just chilled and gave tail wags.  My photo session was ‘serious business’, as I wanted to get the best pictures I could. I was as friendly as I am handsome during it.  Attention is important to me, and I want a lot of it please, so make time for me so I’ll be a happy guy. / My energy level is 4-6 (a little higher in my short break foster home).

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and look forward to learning even more. / I do well in my little room at the shelter, but I did NOT like being in the wire kennel in my short break foster home – escaping several times. / My potty habits were good in my short break foster home, and I have had very few accidents on the shelter schedule.  So, I think I’ll do well in my new home on a good schedule. 

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I am a real people dog and love lots of attention from my people.  I’m also playful and ready for the toys when the volunteers bring those out.  My walks are fun, and I like to take a few minutes and just sit in and enjoy the grass. / Other than cats and crates, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.
