Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of February 2025         SEX:    Female
 
Approximate Weight:  21 lbs
 
Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We have not seen Dorothy interact with cats or kids. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! 
 
Currently Living at:  DC area foster home
 
Special adoption considerations:    Because Dorothy is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will help show her the ropes.
 
Dorothy is Looking For: A home with more dogs to play with! She absolutely adores her foster siblings and spends all her time wrestling, playing tag and learning from them. She's an active girl who's either 100% playing or 100% cuddling.
What My Foster Says About Me: Dorothy is an absolutely amazing dog. She loves playing with my resident dogs (large labs) and can rough and tumble with the best of them. Both her foster homes have had large dogs and she's got a big dog personality from that. Dorothy has a lot of energy and will do well with doggie siblings who want to wrestle, chase and play. She is fearful of change and takes her cues from her dog siblings: if they say a human is safe, she follows their lead immediately. When she has to be separated from them, she shuts down quickly, so that should be minimized. She is the happiest and funniest girl once she's decompressed in a home and likes to be my little smiling shadow. She's got a super positive attitude and will give you love back tenfold.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
