Meet "Freckles" Frederick! Such a handsome young Lab (and maybe Pointer) mix that will steal your heart with his freckled face and loving personality. If you look up a fawn Braque du Bourbonnais, a rare French pointer you'll almost see his picture. Although we're never quite sure of our rescue dog breeds, we DO know he's 100% purebred good boy and love bug! He is a tall guy and if you like big (but not huge) dogs, he's your guy!
He graduated from the DASH Prison Training Program with honors after nearly a year (since he was 5 months old) & it was wearing on him, but he is now learning how to be in a real home.
He knows sit, stay, down, wait and leave it. Such a smart boy, he even knows how to shake with both paws! Now that he is in a foster home his true personality is starting to shine through. When you ask him questions he will tilt his head & give a vocal answer!
He loves to be outdoors to run (even in the rain), he is still full of puppy energy, loves to play with other dogs and his toys. He is very curious about kitties, watches them but doesn't chase, he almost seems a little scared of them at times. He's a social boy who loves people, playing in water, getting baths and sleeping on the bed with his person. He doesn't complain in his crate but would much rather be close to his humans.
Frederick is housebroken with no accidents in the house in his first week (will ask to go out), he
is also leash trained and will heel when told.
What more could we ask for from this perfect pup?
He has not been tested with children, so proper introductions would be required. "Freckles" has been with us far too long and we don't understand why! He just wants a family of his own family to love him & know that he's safe. Will you be the lucky one to give him that? Please consider making this loyal, lovable guy a part of your family!
