Please meet Gerald. Gerald is one handsome, calm, sweet old fella with a lot of pep in his step. His age is a guess as well as his breed. Anyone looking for one of those fancy designer dogs need not stop here. Gerald is one of those Heinz 47 boys, smart yet calm, loving and gentle, devoted beyond measure, smart as a whip, and in need of a retirement home to rest his head. He came in as a stray but has clearly had a good home at one time. What happened? Who knows. He is not wasting time on the past but is ready for his bright future. Though he was thin, he has eaten his way to a healthy weight and probably could use a few more pounds on his handsome frame.

I met him at an adoption event at the local Tractor Supply. He seemed comfortable being in the middle of all the noise and other dogs, took treats politely, gave me his paw in return, and picked up immediately on the game of "Which one?" and found the treat in my closed fist. When I left he was politely walking through the farmers market, and turning heads. From how he reacted so calmly, he doesn't seem concerned about other dogs so would likely do well with other calm dogs or as an only furry friend.
