Honey has had a long and harrowing journey despite her young age. Pulled from a shelter with just 10 minutes to spare, Honey was living for months in overcrowded conditions, where she was sleeping on bare concrete floors, lucky to get 20 min of human attention a day. After coming into the rescue, her previous people reached out after they saw her adoption ad posted online. We finally knew her backstory!
Honey was just a puppy when her family went on vacation. They left her with a relative that, unfortunately, didn’t keep a good eye on this curious pup. So, Honey got out and, through a series of further unfortunate events (which we may never be privy to), wound up in SoFlo roughly two weeks after her great escape; a long way from her home in central FL.
Double unfortunately, her original people did not want her back. =(
But not to worry, Honey is ready to finally find her forever family! A family that will want and adore her!
Honey is a 3-year-old Boxer mix, weighing in around 50 lbs.
She is dog and kid friendly, and loves to play with anyone who will give her attention!
Honey is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands (i.e. sit, paw, kisses and no).
Despite her ordeal, Honey is an amazing companion to a family with kids or dogs, and just the right mix of playful puppy and snuggly couch potato!
Honey is spayed, vaccinated, and up to date on monthly preventatives.
Home checks are required. Please do not contact if you are not willing to allow a home visit.
