Loyal and Hilarious Young Husky Looking for Active Dog Parents
Neutered male Siberian Husky
Current on all shots
Fully grown, 40-44 pounds, soft as a plush toy
Found abandoned and afraid on a country road, 11 month-old Jato is now making the most of life and love. Currently fostered in the Sierra Foothills, Jato is ridiculously mellow for an energetic Husky puppy—and simply the most fun and loving companion.
A bit shy at first, but quickly warms up. He’s extremely affectionate, funny as heck, and actually likes hugs. He sleeps quietly through the night at our bedside and waits until we make the first move to get up. He has a lot of energy and loves to play, but is a complete love bug. His favorite thing is to quietly follow his humans around and hang with them.
Jato is super smart. His potty training is going really fast and he’s learning basic commands as well. He has just started warning us when he needs to go out.
Amazingly, he doesn’t show the Husky tendency to bolt—and while we’re very careful with this—he runs around but stays close “off-leash” and doesn’t like being left without you. He also loves to play—both with humans and other dogs. In a tug of war with a human arm, he grips the hand gently, never biting or hurting. All toys—from bones to balls—are attractive to him.
Jato’s moderately interested in wild critters, but is easily dissuaded with a quick correction. He is friendly to most other dogs. (No idea how he is with cats.) Car rides are an absolute pleasure with Jato—we take him everywhere. He mostly sits or lies quietly in the car or tied securely in the back of a pick-up.
Jato’s perfect dog parents:
—Will have the time and energy to focus on his development and training.
—Will have the active lifestyle to give him the walks, runs, and hikes he loves, but let him snooze at your side while you watch a movie.
—Will appreciate a loyal, Velcro dog who just wants to be with you.
