Hello Friends! My name is Junior, I'm a neutered, 1-year-old, pit bull/boxer mix who currently weighs around 53 lbs. but will most likely be about 60 to 70 lbs. as an adult. I'm an energetic boy that loves running full speed whenever I can! I will bound right into your heart with my adorable antics and rambunctious personality. Since I am a big boy that tends to be on the exuberant side, I would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids aged 6+. I'm a smart boy that already has solid "sit" skills, but I am still working on my leash skills (I'm just so excited). Zoomies and rope toys are my absolute faves! If you are looking for a playful, goofy new friend that can't wait to get outside and have all the fun, please stop by and say hi. Just ask Customer Service about Junior! ID# A953695
I recently went on a hike with a PHS volunteer! Here's how I did:
Today was my first time working with Junior as his chaperone for the Monthly Hike.
Gearing up was challenging due to his wiggling. As I opened the back door of my car, Junior backed away and crouched. Eventually, I carried him, and he passively allowed me to lift him into the back seat. On the hike, Junior showed no negative reactivity to walkers, children, joggers, and bicyclists passing or approaching. He pulled continuously during the hike and tried to get close to other dogs in the group and those passing by. After the hike, I carried him into the back seat once more. Once in the car and during the car ride, both ways, he was well-behaved and did not appear fearful or distressed. When we returned to Lantos, I parked on Rollins. I opened the car door for Junior, and he was hesitant to get out. On the first car ride, he jumped out immediately.
