We’ve heard it many times…Kona is just the sweetest soul. Everyone who meets her comes to love her almost instantly, and just watch here to see why! Kona is just about as close to perfection as you can get in a pup! The bottom line is that anyone would be lucky to have Kona as part of their lives. She is the embodiment of joy! All she wants is to give love and be loved.
Inside, she spends most of her time looking cute and making her humans go “awww”. She’s an overall calm and quiet dog with occasional short bursts of energy. She loves looking out the window or lounging in any sliver of sunlight she can find. She is a complete sun worshipper! Her other favorite nap spot is her pup tent, and she just loves being tucked under a blanket for a good nap. When she snoozes on the couch, she loves resting her chin on the armrest. She’s so stinkin cute!
At bedtime, she loves sleeping in bed with her people under the covers. She will scootch around until she finds just the right spot that would cover her little snout. Kona also likes to show off her favorite toys, occasionally playing tug. It’s all so adorable!
Kona is fully housetrained, even when transitioning to a new home. She’s a smartie pants, and she loooooves physical attention. She’s extremely people-oriented, including when meeting new people. She loves to be right by someone's side whenever she can. She has lived well with another dog in her previous home, but she’s looking for a cat-free home.
When outside on walks, Kona quickly becomes a neighborhood favorite! She loves going for walks, even in the snow! At times, she can be reactive on leash when seeing other dogs, mostly if they bark at her first. She’s also not a fan of scooters, motorcycles, or skateboards, but that’s to be expected. And if the mood strikes, she will try to chase some squirrels, bunnies, or stray cats hanging around.
She enjoyed nearly 6 very happy years in her previous home, but struggled adjusting to a new human sibling when they started learning to walk. She’s been in a loving foster home since returning to PAWS, but she would just love to find a permanent place to call her own. Kona takes daily medication to help with the overall stresses of this unpredictable world (we can relate), and she easily takes them in cheese, which she really really loves! I mean, who doesn’t?
This sweetie is described as "the most loving, snuggly, and fun dog there is," and is a very loyal friend to all. She's a true gem! We just know that whoever ends up adopting Kona is going to be oh so lucky, so we'd love to make an introduction if she seems like she could be just the gal you've been waiting for!
