Hi, I’m Largo! Here is a little info about me:Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: Male Weight: 40 lbHighlight(s): affectionate, rarely barks, no escape tendency, no separation anxietyBefore I was rescued, life was tough. I spent my days tied to a 1-meter chain at a construction site, often hungry and hoping for scraps from the workers. But everything changed when I was rescued! For the past two years, I’ve been living in a pet supply store, dreaming of finding my forever family.I’m a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you—I warm up quickly, especially if you have treats! I’ll even let you pet me, and once I trust you, I’ll roll over and show you my belly. I’m affectionate, loyal, and ready to bond deeply with my new humans. Here’s a bit more about me: I’m better suited for a home without young kids, as sudden noises and movements startle me. I get along well with female dogs and smaller-sized dogs, but I need time to adjust to male dogs. Cats? They’re just too exciting for me, so I’d prefer a home without them. I love walks! I’m good at staying with my handler but can get distracted by all the amazing smells. I’m housetrained (90%!), know basic commands like sit, wait, lie down, and give paw, and I can jump into a car like a pro.I’m low-maintenance: I’m quiet and rarely bark. I don’t have separation anxiety or an escape tendency. I tolerate baths and brushing well, though thunder and lightning make me nervous. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a moderate energy level—someone who enjoys outdoor adventures and snuggles afterward—I might be the perfect fit for you. I’ve been waiting patiently for a family to love me. Could it be you? Energy Level: I have a moderate energy level. I'm very calm at home. I like to chill out or take a nap. It doesn't mean I don't like walks. I love walks! I'm not nervous in new areas. I'm curious and adventurous.I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: No Kids: NoFears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety and I don't have escape tendency.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes (90%). Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
