Leonard Skynard (a.k.a. Lenny) is looking for his own “Sweet Home.” Lenny is about 10 months old (as of February) and he weighs 70 pounds. He’s a big boy, but he’s also a very gentle boy. He loves everyone that he meets, including kids, cats, and other dogs. And lets just dwell on that other dogs thing for a bit - he absolutely loves, loves (and did we say loves?) to play with other dogs. He’s also been around kids as young as 1.5 and 3 years old and was very good with them - he basically sniffed them and went along on his way. He is house trained and crate trained. According to his foster he doesn’t even make a sound when he’s put in his crate. Though he’s just as happy to snuggle up with you and watch a movie on the couch or sleep with you in your bed.
Leonard Skynard was rescued in Texas along with his Mom and siblings. A good samaritan found them and reached out to us for help. The whole family was living outside in the heat and were severely dehydrated and malnourished. Poor Momma pup was trying the best she could, but they were literally just skin and bones. Lenny and his siblings each weighed just 2 - 4 pounds (at 10 weeks old) and Mom was just around 20 pounds when our Texas foster was able to pick them up. Lenny got sick and lost even more weight but he wasn’t going to give up and as you can see from the pictures above, he has fully recovered and is a happy, healthy pups these days. He is enjoying every opportunity to be pet and loved. He loves to follow his foster mom around and sleep on her lap. Lenny is up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped.
He is currently being fostered in PA and is available for a meet and greet if you are approved to adopt.
