Lubka is our special Pyr with a heart-shaped nose, and it is the pyrfect reflection of her pyrsonality. This sweet girl has a gentle, kind and laid-back pyrsonality, and she loves nothing more than to show her people how much she loves them. Lubka is medium-energy, and enjoys a good romp in the backyard or a leisurely stroll in the neighborhood, and then will give you a quiet lean when it’s rest time. This smart girl is crate trained, walks well on leash, knows “sit,” and is non-destructive. She also knows what it takes to stay pretty - regular grooming and brushing, and she enjoys every second of special attention on her, after all, who can resist her beauty? This gorgeous girl is meant to be with her people, and we have no doubt that she will be your heart dog if you open your home to her. She would do well with a laid-back male canine brother and a 4-foot fenced yard. Though she enjoys the company of other dogs, she prefers to eat by herself, as she’s a little protective of her food from other pups (not people). She will thrive in a Pyr-experienced home where her family will spend time doting on her, take her on walks to explore the outdoors, and chill with a good book or TV show in the evening. Easy peasy, right? So don't hesitate and send in your application for Lubka!

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
