Luke and Leia are so happy they even smile! These playful ~4 year old purebred longhaired Siberian huskies were rescued from a high-kill Southern California shelter. DNA has shown that they are in fact siblingsjust like Star Wars. They are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, house trained, dog door trained, non-destructive, and know basic commands and some tricks. Both dogs love car rides, dogs of all sizes, dog park, walks, all people, being brushed, and Leia loves her ball and a husky version of fetch (sometimes it comes back and sometimes the ball goes with her instead). Unlike most huskies they love water and will play in sprinklers and pools all summer long, both have even swam in chilly high Sierra lakes. As huskies they should be on leash in most environments but occasionally deep in the woods they have enjoyed some off leash times to go swimming. They are so adventurous they even love going into stores, to the groomers, and to the vet. Luke has a strong prey drive and they would do best in a home without cats or other animals. Luke is also vocal and will tell you about how he feels. They are bonded with each other and have been together their entire lives would do best if they got to stay together. As long haired huskies they need to be regularly brushed or professionally groomed. Luke also has a torn ligament in his back right leg so if they go into a very active hiking or jogging type home that should be fixed and his surgery is sponsored. Luke would prefer just to lounge around and have easy walks so it would be up to the adopter if he should undergo the ligament repair. They are great at the groomers and enjoy the blow drier the most. So much they will ask to be blow dried with yard blowers and vacuumed if you are cleaning up around the house. Help these fun silly babies find a forever home! If you are itnerested, please fill out an application on our website and text 775-338-6631 or 775-846-3773.
