URGENT: Maverick is a 2 year old mixed breed rescue from San Diego after he and his family were found in Mexico. He is a true mutt being a mix of about 15 different breeds. Maverick weighs 50 lbs and is incredibly athletic. He loves to run and play. Maverick is very sweet and is protective of his "people". He is a little anxious when meeting new people but he has been in doggie daycare and boarded on occasion and loves to play with other dogs. He has lived in a home with other dogs as well. Maverick is very smart and trainable. He has worked with a trainer and is not a dominant dog but needs patience and reassurance to help diffuse anxiety around others he doesn't know.

Unfortunately, Maverick's present owner can no longer keep him and needs to rehome him before May 2. He is urgently looking for a second chance at living the rest of his life in a home where his family will provide him with as much love as he has to give in return. An experienced dog owner with a yard where he can run would be best.
