Meet
Max
, a stunning 3-year-old Great Dane/Labrador Retriever mix with a sleek jet-black coat and warm eyes like rich whiskey that glow amber in the sun. This regal gentleman has the most charming little prance — he trots and bounces like a graceful horse, and it's absolutely adorable! Personality-wise, Max is calm, mellow, and totally easygoing — the kind of pup who's always down to go with the flow. Unfortunately, he’s a bit underweight right now and could use all the extra loving (and lots of tasty meals and treats!) to help him fill out and feel his best. Once he’s back in tip-top shape, we’re sure his more playful, vibrant side will shine through. Max is great on leash, already potty trained, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs — he’s the total package and ready to be your next gentle giant!
3 year old black great Dane/ Lab mix
70 pound neutered male
Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today!
Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/2/25 as a stray
gorgeous boy, very regal and refined, with a stunning jet black coat and a striking set of peepers to match - rich whiskey colored eyes that gleam amber in the sunlight
has the most adorable little prance - trots and bounces like a horse
calm and mellow personality, easygoing and always down to just go with the flow
could stand to gain 15-20 pounds or more - needs all the yummy meals, tasty treats, and TLC to get him back to tiptop shape!
a bit low energy at the shelter, but once he's gained weight and is feeling better, his more vibrant, playful side could come out
great for walks around the park and relaxing at home
did well with other dogs at the shelter, so could be a good brother to any existing pups you may have at home
easy to integrate into the family - great on leash, already potty trained, and has clearly had some basic training

Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.
