Meet Nikolai, a nearly 1 year old Shepherd mix. He is such a sweet guy but very shy. He gets nervous with new people but once he gets to know you, he won’t leave your side. At first he shys away from people and just likes his space until he gets to know you. He loves other dogs and tends to lean on them for comfort. Due to that, it is required that he has a confident dog in the house to help him come out of his shell. He loves to run around the yard with the other dogs but does startle if he hears a loud noise. He is house trained and crate trained but will have an accident if not keep on a schedule. He knows his basic commands like Sit, Lay Down, Leave it, Stand and is working on Heel and Stay. He loves to cuddle once he feels comfortable with you. He hasn’t been around kids or cats, but kids might be too much for him due to his shyness. He doesn’t show any prey drive and would most likely be fine with cats. He is such a sweet boy, that is looking for the perfect family willing to have patience and work with him! 


Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00
