Onyx is a short-tailed Australian Cattle Dog. He is approximately 2 and 1/2 years old and was born around Labor Day weekend. He has been raised with his brother Bear (take a look at his profile for twice the love).Onyx is neutered, up to date on vaccines, had monthly flea and tick treatments, and quarterly heartward medication. House trained and kennel trained. Onyx has not had much socialization with other dogs, but it's done real well when meeting other dogs. Onyx has not been exposed to cats other than a neighborhood stray that they have chased. Car rides are not a problem he is willingly jumped into the car or truck for a ride. When I have taken them to the country he has explored and then came right back to a whistle and a ` come to here ` , and he will come touch your hand with his nose. Onyx is very good around children and very protective. Onyx is passionate about fetch, whether it be a soccer ball with tags, Chuckit ball with a rope, or really any ball. He will play fetch until your arms ready to fall off. He also likes hard plastic balls that he can herd around the yard. After playing fetch his other passion would be his person that he attaches to in the home. He will be like velcro at times. Following you to the bathroom. Laying at your feet, or on your feet. When you're petting him he will push his head into you so that he has more contact with you. He wants to be with you. He does not get on the furniture. He likes his dog bed. And his kennel to sleep at night. They have been accustomed to having free roam of house and yard throughout day and sleeping in the kennel at night. Onyx is looking for an active home to give him the exercise, love, and care he deserves. In return he will be your best dog ever and love you unconditionally.
