Opie is a handsome black and white American Staffordshire Terrier looking for his forever family! This cutie is around 1-2yr old, and weighs 70lbs. Poor Opie was found by his foster family as a stray on the side of the road. He was severely malnourished (weighing 45lbs), with a bare coat, and open wounds all over his body. His foster family has nursed him back to health and now he's ready to be loved for the rest of his days! Opie is potty trained (knows how to use a doggy door), crate trained (6hr), and knows his basic commands. Opie is a strong boy, but is learning his leash manners, and he thrives when he receives one on one training! He is cat reactive, so no felines for this boy. Opie is dog friendly and loves to run and play with other dogs in his fenced yard. This sweet boy also enjoys the companionship of kids, and would shine in a home where he has younger people to spend his days with!
Opie is a joyful, sweet, and intelligent boy! He is the total package for someone looking for a loving and loyal companion. Due to his size and strength, someone that has experience with dogs his size is preferred. Opie would love a home with a fenced yard, and another playful and friendly dog to spend time with. Opie will be neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped before an adoption is finalized. If you're interested in adopting this sweet boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications.
