ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! Handsome OZ is beagle in need of a home. He's a slightly overweight gent in search of healthy lifestyle. Oz is 10 years old and currently 41 pounds. He should be around 35 pounds and has been on a weight loss journey. Oz was 52 pounds (!) and has already dropped 11 pounds. He's added a lot of pep to his step as he drops the weight, doing zoomies and seems happier. Oz is okay other dogs, but not particularly interested in them and ignores kitties. This darling boy was adopted from SDHR 10 years ago as a puppy and was recently returned to us. We are still getting to know Oz, but our early read on him is that he's been bounced around a bit and his one constant has been food. He needs a home with an adopter who will prioritize Oz's health. If you'd like to meet Oz, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Oz at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
