Reba has a sad story, but with a happy ending. She was a pregnant stray in Georgia that wandered up to a lady's farm and had her babies. The woman tried bringing Reba and her babies to the shelter, but the shelter said they were full and had no room. So she took them back home and kept them in a crate on her front porch, even with freezing nights, until Lil Rascals found out about it and came to their rescue. Reba is approx. 2-3 years old and weighs 37 pounds. She loves every person she meets including kids, craving love and cuddles. She is a medium-energy girl, is house trained, does well in a crate, sleeps through the night and lets you know in the morning when it's time to go out. Reba enjoys Kong toys, is still unsure about riding in a car but lays down and is calm. She is not a fan of bath time though, so she will need conditioning with treats until she learns baths aren't so bad. Her leash walking is a work in progress, so for that reason, she will need a fenced-in back yard. She will need a patient adopter willing to continue to teach her the ropes.
Reba is heartworm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill protocol, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. She can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for this sweet girl, please complete an application and tell us more about you.
