We are a matched based adoption agency, if you see a dog in our program in which you are interested in adopting, please fill out our online application at kcpaws.org and one of our adoptions counselors will be in touch once your application has been screened. Please note that we do require dogs to meet all members of the family including existing pets in the home before finalizing during your in home adoption.
Meet Richard! Richard came to PAWS after his owner became homeless and could no longer care for him. 
Richard originally was rescued from a neglect case, he had a tie out cable embedded in his neck and was very neglected. He still wears the scars of his past, but that doesn't stop him from wanting a full and happy life. 
He has a bit of a grumpy mug, but don't worry- that's just his underbite! Richard likes other dogs and has been to dog parks and has played in doggy daycare. He is a vocal player and likes to wrestle so he may be too much for a small dog. 
Richard has never lived with young kids so we aren't sure how he would do but we are always willing to help introduce!
Richard is potty and kennel trained, he loves soft dog beds and keeps his toys intact. 
Richard is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, PAWS will ensure he completes his treatment and we are hoping to get him into a foster home, if you are interested in adopting, we could do a foster-to-adopt until he is done with his treatment.
