Rocky Top is a well-rounded, exceptionally good mannered 4-5 year old little Hound dog man who is off the charts with an A+ dog adopt rating. What does that really mean? Well when you think of adopting a dog with a kind nature, no behavioral issues and who is perfectly trained in how to navigate life as a dog, you have to think of Rocky Top. He is great with other dogs, loves children, and can peacefully coexist with cats, and why he deserves an A+ dog adopt rating. He is crate trained and has decent leash manners, and could improve with daily consistency in walking with an owner. Rocky Top is as sweet as he is cute, and would fit in with any type of family and home situation. He could even live in an apartment setting. He has a great recall, loves his humans, and would make his future family very happy! He is a perfect weight at about 45 pounds, which is on the smaller side for a hound. His family moved to a home where they could only take one dog, and chose to leave their more social pup behind to find a better home! They knew Rocky Top could find a home easier than the dog they kept. A wise decision since he now has a wonderful foster mom who eagerly welcomed him to stay with her till adopted. We know that Hound breeds aren’t the hot ticket in the dog world when being considered as a dog to adopt. But honestly people need to think of the soul of a dog and the true personal demeanor when adopting. Forget the outside look, but look inside at the true definition of a dog’s character and ability to be a good adoptable companion for your life. Rocky Top will far exceed those Doodles, or Aussies, or Golden Retrievers. The soul and love from this dog will have his next owner bragging every day about what a great dog they found and adopted through a rescue. Rocky Top will NOT disappoint.
