Hi, I’m Rory! I’m a 2-year-old Mini Aussie with a big personality packed into my petite 30-pound frame. My foster family says I’m a beautiful love bug who’s as unique as I am adorable. I’m looking for a special forever home with people who understand me and can help me feel safe and loved.
At first, I can be a little timid and jumpy—I’m still learning to trust people and get comfortable in new environments. Doorways? Not my thing. I’d rather you leave the door open and let me come in and out on my own terms (food bribes help a lot!). I LOVE being outside—it’s my happy place. I even do an adorable hop when I’m playing in the yard. A fenced yard is a must for me because I’m not a fan of leashes yet, and I can be a bit of a flight risk if I get spooked.
Speaking of playing, I’m obsessed with balls and squeaky toys. I’ll happily entertain myself, but I also love a good play session with my person. I’ve even mastered an impressive "car punch" move with my squeakers! Afterward, I’m ready to cuddle up—on my terms, of course. When I’m feeling secure, I’ll roll onto my back for belly rubs or nap in the cutest positions.
I do have a few quirks that my forever family should know about. Loud noises, children, and overwhelming commotion make me nervous, so I’d thrive in a calm, adult-only home. I’m working hard on potty training and getting really close, especially when I’m on a consistent schedule. Crates? Not for me—I’ll bark to let you know I’d rather be somewhere else. And yes, I’m vocal! I’ll let you know how I’m feeling, so a home without shared walls is best.
I get along well with other dogs most of the time and even enjoy playing with them, but I can be a little snippy if high-value toys or treats are involved. Redirecting me works great, and I’m learning how to share better every day. I’d love to have a doggy sibling to play with, as long as they’re patient and will help me gain confidence.
My foster family says that despite my challenges, I have so much love to give and bring endless joy to the people I trust. If you’re someone who can help me feel safe, give me space to blossom, and appreciate my quirks and charm, I can’t wait to meet you!
*Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.
