Meet Saffie!
The owner of cattle dog Saffie and her lab mix friend Parker recently died of cancer. They live in a barn stall and are currently being cared for on a temporary basis by volunteers with Herd and Flock Animal Sanctuary that go to the barn once per day to give food and water. Saffie and Parker desperately need forever homes (separately or together.)
Their caregivers share: "Saffie and Parker are middle-aged dogs with sweet dispositions. All they want is human contact and love. They had been neglected for a long time by the owner before her death. Saffie loves attention and would be happiest living in a home. In addition to Parker, she has lived with a Chihuahua and a German Shepard. As far as we know, she has gotten along well with all of them.
Saffie is pretty low energy. She likes to sniff and wander around the yard, but she likes sitting next to a human to get pets more! Saffie has 24 hour access to an outdoor enclosure and always goes to the bathroom outside. We don't know what would happen if she lived inside in a home.
Saffie is such a sweetheart once she knows you a little bit, but growls at strangers. It doesn't take her long to warm up, and then she is a love muffin! She plants herself next to a human to get pets. She has been neglected for years and would love to have someone give her attention and love."
Saffie needs a very special family that will be patient as she adjusts to life in a home. Might that be you? It will be so rewarding to give Saffie the life and love she so deserves!
