4/11/25 Shadow has been in rescue for almost a year now. This week he started at Paws in Prison. We are so hopeful that this will get him adopted! He’s such a good boy. House trained, good with other dogs, loves people, and loves food We think he is going to excel with his training at Paws in Prison. Don’t let this meatball pass you by! When he graduates, he will have his canine good citizen certificate!
His info-He is so beautiful with his muscular build and slick coat. Shadow was an owner surrender, through no fault of his own. His former owner was going through some very difficult life events and just was not able to keep him any longer. Shadow is about 3 years old, 65 pounds (needs to lose about 10 pounds), and fully vetted. He gets along good with other non dominant dogs. He is also very good with kids. He is not a good candidate for a home with cats. He is housetrained and walks on leash but needs to learn better leash manners because he does pull. He will work on his leash manners at Paws in Prison, along with other basic commands, and maybe even some tricks! He is loving and friendly with everyone he meets.
Because Arkansas Paws in Prison Foundation has the best write ups, here’s what they say about him-
One year. That’s how long Shadow has been in a foster home. And during that time, there’s been zero interest in adopting him. Despite his friendliness, gentle ways, and undeniably adorable face…no one has said they want him even though he is a very sweet boy. He’s good with other dogs and loves kids. Shadow is not a trouble maker and doesn’t cause a fuss. Mostly, this guy just smiles. Because he has an upbeat personality and loads of love to give. Shadow is a bully breed mix. He’s 3 years old. And a chunk. He weighs 65 pounds but needs to lose about 10 of them. He’s already on a diet. You’d think that might make him grumpy. But it hasn’t. Because he doesn’t do grouchy.
