Meet Strawberry, the sweet Aussie-bull (Australian Shepherd mixed with a pitbull). Strawberry is an adolescent through and through – her favorite activities are running and playing with kids. She has experience with children as young as 4 year old and did well. Strawberry is house trained but still perfecting the art of being left alone. As our companion animals, some dogs don’t love being left alone as much as others. Strawberry would thrive with above average mental and physical stimulation. Paired with time and patience as Strawberry transitions, we anticipate this gal will blossom in her next home. Strawberry has made some dog friends at the Shelter and may enjoy a canine companion to zoom around with in her next home. This dog’s adoption fee is reduced to $70 from May 1st to May 15th as part of “Empty the Shelters”, an adoption event hosted by the Bissell Pet Foundation to help pets across the nation find the loving adoptive homes they deserve. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
