Fence needed? Yes, without exception. Stryker is a flight risk. He requires the security of a physically fenced yard.

What kind of home would be best for me? We're looking for a very specific home for Stryker. Our first preference is for a family with experience rehabilitating a dog that as had very little life experience. Though he came out of a home, Stryker is incredibly nervous around new people and lacks socialization. Stryker requires another young, small, active dog in the home that will model confident behaviors. Stryker is not a fit for a home with children; he does not like unexpected movements. Stryker must have a physically fenced yard. He knowns nothing about walking on a leash and is a flight risk. Sorry, but this means no apartments for this handsome boy.  And finally, Stryker would really love a home that knows and understands his breed. 

What is my personality like? Stryker was surrendered by an owner who loved him very much. He was never socialized outside of his mom and the other dog in the home. As a result, Stryker behaves as though he has never been touched until he knows and trusts you.

Once Stryker knows you, he loves you completely. The happy, well-adjusted Stryker loves to be cuddled, sleeps in the bed at night, and will give you his entire heart. With ongoing socialization and a consistent, patient home he can grow into a more confident, well-adjusted boy.

How do I act when I first meet new people? Stryker is very, very shy. Though he's been raised in a home, he is still timid around new people. He will not come to meet you upon greeting.

House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
