, a 13-lb, 7-year-old chug (Chihuahua/Pug mix)who is ready to find his forever home! Stuart is house trained and rides well in a car. He loves to walk. He does pull a bit on his leash when he gets excited.
Background: Stuart came into rescue when his family could no longer care for him. Stuart has lived in a home his entire life and has the house manners of a much loved dog.
Personality
: Stuart is an awesome dog. He is very friendly and has had no issues with anybody he has met. He has never been in a home with young children but Stuart is a friendly dog so we think he would do well with respectful children. Stuart does not like big dogs. Stuart seems to like cats, but he will chase them as he loves to run. Stuart loves to be held and cuddled and has a rabbit soft fur coat . He adores attention. Don’t let Stuart's age fool you. He is active and very athletic. He not only can jump high but he out runs all of the younger dogs in his foster home.
Health:
Stuart is neutered and microchipped and
current on his vaccinations.
Throughout his life Stuart has had regular medical examinations including regular dental check ups. He last had his teeth cleaned in October of 2023.
Ideal Home:
Stuart loves to stretch those long legs of his and run at top speed. So we are looking to place Stuart in a home with a securely fenced yard. Stuart also loves to play with other small dogs, but he will need a quite and slow introduction with new dogs if he gets scared it won't work for him would be ideal.
His adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses as outlined above. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think he could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*:

*Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up .
