Meet Vivvie — A rare red and white Sheltie mix with a tender heart and a runner’s soul. Vivvie is under 2 years old, about 25 lbs, and built like a long-distance runner—with a trim, graceful frame and a silky, low-maintenance coat. At the dog park, she’s pure joy—zooming, playing chase, seeking out calm humans for treats and affection. She’s a best friend to every dog she meets: gentle, submissive, and sweet with all ages and sizes. She’s also 100% housetrained, learned the dog door just by observing the other pups, and has never had a single accident. But at home? Vivvie is still learning how to be brave. because originally for her first three months in foster care, she wouldn't come out of her crate if a human was nearby—despite the loving foster home, with an experienced foster mom who worked from home. She was surrounded by kind, balanced dogs. It took time, patience, and consistency to earn her trust, and we expect she’ll need that same gentle approach in her forever home. She may take longer than most people anticipate—even those familiar with shy dogs—but her progress is steady and rewarding, and she continues to surprise us with her quiet bravery. And yet—this girl is worth it. She’s never shown an ounce of aggression, only fear. She responds beautifully to calm, gentle energy and is especially fond of men with quiet, grounded personalities (she’s smitten with her foster dad!). She’s incredibly smart, deeply observant, and every small win feels like a gift. Her story? Vivvie and her 12 siblings were born in the Spring of 2024 to a stray mom on a rural Tennessee farm. The shelter was full, so the puppies were left to survive on their own. Over the next 7 months, nearly all were tragically lost to cars on the highway —only Vivvie and two brothers survived. When Critter Cavalry stepped in, Vivvie was shut down, silent, and unable to be touched. Now? She waits at the window for her foster parents as her tail gently wags upon their approach in the front door. She eats with the pack, sneaks out for occasional snuggles, and gives quiet, deliberate kisses of gratitude. She’s not an instant best friend—but if you’re patient and kind, she will become one of those rare dogs whose love means everything because it had to be earned.
Vivvie needs a quiet home, a fenced yard, and a confident dog buddy. She thrives with routine and will do best with someone who is experienced, calm, and willing to let love unfold slowly.
Vivvie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all essential vaccinations.
The window is ready. Will you be the one she’s waiting for? Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you can give Vivvie the perfect life and patient love.
