Zeus is a sweet, one-year-old, 65 pound pup looking for his perfect forever home. He can be a little shy and nervous when first meeting new people, but with a little patience (and maybe a treat or two!), he will start to show his loving, playful side. Zeus loves to chase a ball—although he's still working on the whole "bring it back" part! He enjoys going on walks and hikes, and he rides calmly in the car. In his foster home, he has free reign with two male dogs and gets along beautifully with them. Because of this, Zeus will need a companion dog in his new home to help him continue building confidence. He’s housebroken, has a medium energy level, and displays some prey drive. While he might chase outdoor cats, a dog-savvy indoor cat could be okay with proper introductions. Zeus is easily corrected and eager to please, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training. A quiet home with an at least five foot fence will be the best fit for Zeus. He will need a patient family willing to give him the time and encouragement he needs to feel truly safe and secure. Once he realizes he’s home for good, Zeus blossoms into a warm, affectionate boy who loves belly rubs, cuddles, and snoozing in his dog bed. He’ll happily be your best friend—especially if you're willing to throw the ball for him! Zeus would probably do okay with calm, older, considerate kids but because of his shy nature, smaller kids might be too much.
